Johanna joined the firm in 2019. She provides a wide range of legal advice to our brands, including drafting, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial agreements such as e-commerce, IT and software agreements, collaboration and product licensing agreements, competition/prize draw terms and conditions and influencer/content creator agreements, as well as logistics agreements, distribution and franchising arrangements. Johanna also assists with consumer complaints and after-sales queries for our retail clients.
As part of her role, Johanna also advises clients on intellectual property matters, including conducting trade mark clearance searches, assisting with our clients’ trade mark portfolio management, advising on trade mark and copyright infringement matters and disputes, advising on IP licensing agreements, as well as negotiating copyright and usage rights on behalf of a creative marketing services agency client. She also oversees the online and offline brand protection and anti-counterfeiting programme for two of our major clients.
Johanna is also actively involved in a data privacy management role for one of our largest clients, which includes training and advising client staff on data protection compliance and best practices and drafting, negotiating, and advising on data processing and data transfer agreements.
Johanna graduated from the University of Westminster with a First Class Honours law degree (European Legal Studies LLB) with an additional year abroad at Freie Universität in Berlin and obtained a Distinction from her LPC at BPP University. Before joining Stephens, Johanna worked as an investment paralegal at an equity crowdfunding platform in London.
